Oops, sorry, didn't even know there was that other Matrix ;-)

Well, I'm baffled. When I do what I describe above, I get 45 without
Wachowskis as directors. If I leave everything checked, I get 47.

Could it be some IE version issue? I'm running a fully patched XP SP2
Pro.
